Today, the Church celebrates the feast day of St. Vincent de Paul, the patron saint of charitable societies. St. Vincent de Paul was a French priest who is remembered for his charity and compassion for the poor. He is a model saint for practicing the Corporal Works of Mercy.
Last April, Word on Fire started an initiative called the Works of Mercy Fund with the goal of bringing the message of God's love to the needy and those on the fringes of society. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we are now able to send our resources for free to people on the margins. In honor of St. Vincent de Paul, please consider making a gift to the Works of Mercy Fund today.
| | MAKE A GIFT | Thanks to donations toward this project, our evangelization materials have shipped for free to 14 prisons, 11 hospitals, and 7 parishes in over 18 states. Overseas, we've sent resources at no cost to Australia, China, South Africa, and the United Kingdom.
Over the past four months, several retirement centers, a recovery center, and a homeless shelter have also benefited from the Works of Mercy Fund. We even sent evangelization materials to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in a Dayton, Ohio, district. Watch this video of gratitude for the fruits of this initiative:
