Dear Friend,

I am very excited to announce Word on Fire Publishing's newest project, which will be of great service both to the Church and the academy.

The Vatican has selected Word on Fire Academic to publish all 25 volumes of Joseph Ratzinger's Collected Works in English, including 2.5 million words that will be translated for the first time.

Beginning in 2026, Word on Fire Academic plans to release two volumes of the Collected Works each year, over twelve years. The complete series will include all of Ratzinger's works, including the three Jesus of Nazareth volumes, The Spirit of the Liturgy, his interview books, and many more.

LEARN MORE

Ratzinger's extraordinary learning, erudition, and Christocentric approach have become touchstones for a new generation of Catholic theologians. When I learned that only half of Ratzinger's writings have been translated into English, and just one of the 25 volumes in his Collected Works, I asked my publishing team to explore the possibility of Word on Fire Academic completing this important series. Our team responded with excitement, crafting a vision for beautiful, high-quality volumes that will be used for years to come.

In order for this extensive project to come to fruition, we need your support!

There are significant upfront costs for translating and publishing these works, and your tax-deductible donation will help to offset these expenses. Will you make a gift to help us bring this collection to life?

SUPPORT THE RATZINGER PROJECT

If you make a gift of $100 or more, you will receive a complimentary copy of The Pope Benedict XVI Reader, which features various excerpts from Ratzinger's interviews, speeches, audiences, homilies, and books. If you make a gift of $200, you will also receive a copy of The Mind of Benedict XVI by

Dr. Richard G. DeClue, Jr.

We are so grateful for your prayers and support of this important project!

God bless you,

+Bishop Robert Barron
