Have You Heard of the Child Tax Credit?

While I know most people don’t look forward to filing their taxes every year, it is an important time to take advantage of tax breaks like the Child Tax Credit. Families can claim up to $2,000 in federal tax credits, and up to $1,200 in Colorado tax credits this year with the Child Tax Credit.  They can also claim up to an additional $3,200 with Colorado’s new Family Affordability Tax Credit. Everywhere I go, Colorado parents tell me this credit is a lifeline for their families and helps pay for basics like groceries, rent, and childcare. Have you heard of the Child Tax Credit?    Your response will help me understand how many families know about and are taking advantage of the Child Tax Credit as I push to expand it in Congress. Expanding this credit is essential for giving families a leg up and cutting childhood poverty across our state.
