Why People Call us a "Ray of Hope"

The Epoch Times a "Ray of Hope" Founded by expat Chinese who experienced the first-hand horrors of communism, The Epoch Times has been a leader in reporting on human rights atrocities in China.    In particular, we've exposed the brutal persecution of Falun Gong, a meditation and qigong practice that's been targeted for elimination by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) since 1999.   Teresa You, one of our customer service managers, has herself experienced the inhumane treatment of people who practice Falun Gong in China.    "I saw the brutal treatment of Falun Gong practitioners in labor camps for the first time in the Chinese-language edition of The Epoch Times (via a VPN)," she writers in her letter to subscribers.   When she was nine years old, her parents, who both practiced Falun Gong, were taken away to be reformed.  "Though this knowledge made me extremely scared and gave me nightmares, it also brought a sense of security in finally knowing the kind of place my parents were taken to and that people like my parents were not forgotten. They wouldn’t just disappear, no matter how much the CCP wanted them to."
