Dear Neighbor, As we enter the final stretch of the year, one thing remains constant: our office is focused on delivering for the people of Colorado — which means lowering the cost of living, growing the middle class, and making our communities safer. Last week, I was excited to announce that our efforts imploring the USPS to improve mail delivery services for residents of our mountain communities were successful, as the agency released its plans to, among other initiatives, move forward with eliminating the P.O. Box fee for eligible residents of Steamboat Springs. Eligible residents may also receive refunds for up to 24 months of past fees. By removing burdensome fees, countless households across Steamboat will have better access to timely deliveries for their medications, bills, checks, passports, and other essential items. You can read more about our efforts here. I also joined a bipartisan, bicameral coalition of lawmakers in introducing the Expanding Public Lands Outdoor Recreation Experiences (EXPLORE) Act. The EXPLORE Act is a comprehensive legislative package designed to improve and support outdoor recreation, and includes several of my legislative bills — read the article "Colorado priorities included in outdoor recreation bill" by CPR News to learn more. Wishing everyone a happy holiday season! Keep reading to learn more about other exciting updates.

Each year, our office is honored to present residents of Colorado's 2nd Congressional District with service awards commending outstanding members of the community for their commitment to the betterment of our state. Our office is still accepting nominations for the 2023 Service Awards—the submission deadline has been extended to December 5th. Find additional information about each award, including details on requirements and eligibility here. | Pictured Above: Congressman Neguse hosts office hours in Fort Collins and Boulder during the Thanksgiving holiday. | - Wonderful to visit with folks from across the community at Downtown Boulder's Light Up the Holidays event on Pearl Street. Our five-year-old daughter Natalie had an incredible time helping Santa Claus flip the switch illuminating lights across Boulder!
- I joined my congressional colleagues in introducing the Wildfire Resilient Communities Act. This bill ensures that our communities are equipped with the tools necessary to tackle the wildfire crisis head-on.
- I had the opportunity to catch up virtually last Thursday with local leaders from the 12 counties and 60+ towns in Colorado's 2nd Congressional District. I am grateful for the partnership of our county commissioners and mayors as we work together to deliver for the people we are privileged to represent.
- As Co-Chair of the Congressional Colorado River Caucus, I was excited to help introduce the bipartisan Healthy Watersheds, Healthy Communities Act. This bill supports projects that benefit the health of our waterways and the communities and wildlife that depend on them.
Should you need any assistance from our office, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Please stay safe, stay healthy, and stay hopeful! Sincerely, | | | | Joe Neguse Member of Congress | | | |
