Beloved Catholic author George Weigel recommends “The Mary Pages”

George Weigel, beloved author and Pope St. John Paul II biographer, recently released a list of 8 book recommendations.

Among them was The Mary Pages: An Atheist's Journey to the Mother of God by Sally Read.

Here's what he had to say:

"A strikingly novel conversion memoir, the literary elegance of which is displayed in this description of Marian apparitions in recent centuries: 'It seemed that Mary acted like a kind of triage nurse in the hinterland between heaven and hell, speeding some closer to God, dispensing mercy, appearing and disappearing at apposite moments in history.' Give it to a Protestant friend skeptical of Catholic Marian piety and to members of your parish sodality."

As Weigel notes, The Mary Pages is not a typical conversion memoir. It is a reminder that Mary, along with the saints, is never far from us, continually inviting us to something deeper, whether we realize it or not.

Read the story of this remarkable journey and let The Mary Pages help introduce Mary's quiet guidance into your own life or the life of a friend or loved one.
