Dear Friend,

It's finally July, the month when tens of thousands of Catholics will gather in Indianapolis for the National Eucharistic Congress. I will be there with my Word on Fire team, and I hope you are planning to attend as well.

The entire purpose of this congress and the USCCB's multi-year Eucharistic Revival campaign is to renew people's faith in the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist. At every Mass, the bread and wine are transubstantiated into Jesus' actual Body and Blood, but as a recent survey discovered, many self-professed Catholics don't believe this basic teaching of our faith.

So what can you do? There are lots of possibilities, but might I suggest a concrete first step? Take stock of your own belief in the Eucharist by committing to a regular Holy Hour. A good way into this spiritual discipline would be to join our initiative to pray 10,000 Holy Hours this month. In May, we asked people to pray the Rosary and had 90,000 Rosaries prayed all around the world. Let's try something similar with Holy Hours in this month of the Eucharistic Congress.

LOG A HOLY HOUR

Spending time with our Lord in Eucharistic Adoration can have a profound effect on your prayer life and the way you experience the Eucharist. So please consider offering a Holy Hour and logging it on our website. Through the Eucharist, we are all united as members of the Body of Christ.

God bless you!

+ Bishop Robert Barron
